Each summer (June - August),the Harris YMCA hosts summer day camps each week, Monday through Friday, for Rising Kindergartners to Rising 5th Graders. Summer Camp Volunteers are needed to support the camp staff and camp counselors in implementing a wide variety of traditional camp activities, games, crafts, and all the various activities that make summer camp fun! Registration & Scheduling: 1. A volunteer should register for an entire week of camp; and for consistency, is asked to work the same 4-hour shift each day of the selected week. 2. A volunteer can register for more than one (1) week of camp and choose a morning or afternoon shift for the selected week. 3. To support our staff and campers, please provide a week's advance notice when selecting your volunteer shift(s). 4. Any scheduling conflicts that arise during the week(s) will be managed by the Harris staff. Additional Details: *An on-site Summer Camp Orientation for volunteers will be conducted each Monday of camp. The Harris Volunteer Coordinator will provide detailed information once a volunteer registers for his/her week(s). *If a volunteer is serving multiple weeks, he/she needs only to attend one (1) Summer Camp Orientation on his/her first week of volunteering. *Summer Camp volunteers receive a complimentary Volunteer T-Shirt and are asked to wear it during their shift(s). *Volunteers 17 years of age and younger are limited to 4 hours a day of volunteering. There fore volunteers can do a 4 hour AM shift or a 4 hour PM shift but not both in the same day.
