Volunteers in this role assist Y Kids Child Care staff in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children in our care. Responsibilities may include helping set up and clean up classroom activities, supervising children during playtime and learning activities under staff direction, assisting with snack or mealtime, and supporting staff with basic classroom needs throughout the day. Volunteers work alongside YMCA staff at all times and do not have unsupervised contact with children, in line with our child safety policies. This role is a great fit for anyone who enjoys working with children and wants to support our mission of building healthy spirit, mind, and body for the next generation. A reminder that all volunteers working with children must complete a background check and any required child safety training before their first shift, per YMCA policy.
